This month’s calendar wallpaper is something just a bit different from my usual offerings. OK, it’s a lot different, as in completely different. Read on…

I recently discovered a feature in the Picasa photo editing program of which I was not previously aware. Within the Collage feature, the “Multiple Exposure” option superimposes selected photos on top of each other into one big amalgamation of photo-ness. I can’t think of too many practical applications of this feature, but I nevertheless decided to play with it using photos from the recent ORANGE photography assignment. I selected just one orange photo from each of the participants, clicked the Create Collage button and let Picasa work its magic. I find the resulting image to be a veritable work of abstract art. I call it “1 Orange Each.”

The image for the September wallpaper was taken this past weekend in the old mining town of St. Elmo in the heart of Colorado’s Sawatch Range. I found this wagon wheel at a really cool outdoor antique shop there.

And only a day late this time! :)
