Just a reminder and a status update today…

First, a reminder to get your FOOD pics to me by this evening for the Weekend Photography Assignment. I will TRY to get the results posted by tomorrow morning, but may wait until Tuesday. I’ve already received some wonderful submissions, so if you haven’t taken any FOOD pics yet, get busy!! ;)

As for the status update, I thought you might like to know that my lilacs are none the worse for wear after Wednesday’s little bit of snowiness. :)

Sure enough, we got the snow they said we were going to get. Not much. Just enough to make the flowers look really sad.

The lilacs are just starting to hit their stride and I got some more practice with the macro yesterday. It’s a shame that they haven’t developed the technology to share aromas digitally, because these things smell heavenly! :)

Are you tired of flowers yet? I hope not, because I’ve only just begun. :)

I got a bit of practice with the macro lens yesterday (see Photography Resolution #6). It was a bit of a challenge due to the wind. Flowers that won’t stay still are difficult to photograph so a bit of patience comes in handy. Following are a few of the results:

Ah, the last day of April. April is a tough month in these parts… that “in between” season where winter is still trying to make a desperate last stand and spring is just barely getting underway. We had snow in the forecast yesterday, but thank goodness it never materialized. April was probably just about my favorite month when I lived in Arizona but here in Colorado, not so much. But it’s all good. I still have tulips coming up and the lilacs are about to explode into their fragrant beautiness.

So anyway, farewell April. You did your job well… now run along.
