Sure enough, we got the snow they said we were going to get. Not much. Just enough to make the flowers look really sad.

Are you tired of flowers yet? I hope not, because I’ve only just begun. :)

I got a bit of practice with the macro lens yesterday (see Photography Resolution #6). It was a bit of a challenge due to the wind. Flowers that won’t stay still are difficult to photograph so a bit of patience comes in handy. Following are a few of the results:

Ah, the last day of April. April is a tough month in these parts… that “in between” season where winter is still trying to make a desperate last stand and spring is just barely getting underway. We had snow in the forecast yesterday, but thank goodness it never materialized. April was probably just about my favorite month when I lived in Arizona but here in Colorado, not so much. But it’s all good. I still have tulips coming up and the lilacs are about to explode into their fragrant beautiness.

So anyway, farewell April. You did your job well… now run along.

The tulips on the south side of my house are still hanging in there. I especially love the color of this one:

And this one:

I have more bulbs that should be coming up this week. Woo hoo!

The temperature got into the low 80’s in the Denver area yesterday. (That’s 27.77° C. for my Euro peeps). Dare I think spring? Probably not, since we have snow in the forecast for Friday. Oh well, my tulips are certainly thinking spring. Yea!
